Author
Wes Oleszewski is known for his meticulous research and ability to tell
a tale so as to put the reader within the story. In the creation and production
of seven books since 1991, the author has written more than a quarter of
a million words on the subject of Great Lakes maritime history. His only
problem has been that he can research and write the stories faster and in
far greater quantity than his publisher can produce the books. Currently,
he has more than 100 stories in active research, but considering that there
are more than 5,000 shipwrecks and more than 300 lighthouses on the lakes
- his work is far from finished.
In the process of writing and researching, Wes has gained the trust of Great Lakes divers and the respect of Great Lakes historians. His honest respect for the subject of history as well as for the people who lived it has always shown in his work, and has been widely recognized in the Great Lakes community. This has allowed the author to access places and people that are ordinarily not within the reach of others. The most reclusive of collectors, and the most secretive of divers all trust Wes and share their secrets with him knowing full well that he can write the tales of the lost mariners and still not reveal secrets to the public.
